Now it is back to me, as expected all the top RB’s are taken and that is one of the downsides to picking at the top of any draft. There are few things to consider here with one being who I would consider taking in round 3 even though this is only 2 rounds that has to be considered to get the best value for my team. Here are my options I would consider here and this is in no order.
1. Marc Bulger, QB St. Louis Rams. This choice may seem a bit high for him, but a few things to consider the Rams always have an explosive offense and throw the ball a ton to top recievers in Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, and also out of the backfield in Steven Jackson, plus the almighty dollar takes effect in Bulger’s contract year.
2. Marvin Harrision, WR, Indy Colts. The only guy I have heard of who can eat Wendy’s all the time and still be a top notch athlete in the NFL. Marvin Harrission has been amazing with Peyton and last year getting 12 TD’s and 1,366 yards is impressive. There is no reason for his production to change for this upcoming year.
3. Thomas Jones, RB, NY Jets. A running back who is on a new team that made the playoffs last year, and that team should be just as good as last year even though they play in the tough AFC East. In the AFC East the opponents gave up just around 112 yards per game and 32 rushing TD’s right at 2 per game, and then comparing to his former division the NFC North where divisional opponents gave up 100 yards per game and 39 total TD’s just above 2 a game. I assume his stats should be comparable if not slightly better, because he will be the featured back and not have to share time and Jones will get all the goal line carries.
So with the third pick I choose Thomas Jones from the NY Jets. A large reason why I chose him is because after Jones I think the drop off from RB to RB drops significantly for each one, and I would not want to miss on a good back for my next pick.
