Thursday Preview: TCU @ BYU

LaVell Edwards Stadium 7PM MT TV: Versus & CSTV PPV (After Conclusion)

This was to be a premire meeting back in August and then as late as the end of October this looked to be just another game, but with TCU’s waxing of New Mexico last week this game is now a must see for all college football fans. TCU welcomed back defensive stud Tommy Blake who at least for one game provided a spark for the entire team. If TCU’s offense and defense can play like they did last week against New Mexico then BYU better be prepared. However, in my opinion TCU will not be able to repeat their past performance, at least on the offensive end. TCU’s offense has been sporadic at best this season, and the only way for TCU to be able to hang around in this game would be for Andy Dalton to limit turnovers and hand off the ball to who ever is in the backfield to eat up clock and wear down the Cougar defense. TCU must apply pressure to Max Hall and force him to get rid of the ball quick for TCU to counter the BYU passing game. For BYU they do have Austin Collie back after an injury and he proved last week that he is back as their go to reciever and primary return man. BYU should win this game and increase their home streak to 11 games and their conference win streak to 13. If BYU’s offensive line can give Max Hall time to throw look for him to carve up the Horned Frogs secondary and score some easy points. For the prediciton I would love for TCU to win because that would give my Utes a chance to at least share the conference title, but I know better and BYU should win this game on the strength of their passing, oh and this is a home game. TCU will hang around longer then expected, but look for BYU to pull this one out in the end.
