Week 12 Preview

War Memorial Stadium 12PM MT TV:

BYU can claim at least a share of their second straight MWC title with a win at Laramie.  As for the weather alert for Laramie in November it will be a balmy high of 62 and clear skies, so the traditional weather advantage will be null.  As for the play of Wyoming they are quickly finding themselves in the Colorado State category by collapsing worse then a cheap folding chair.  Wyoming might have some motivation to turn this around after getting embarrassed last week against Utah, but in saying that Wyoming does not know who their QB is and their receiving corp has done nothing since game 5.  The only hope is that Wyoming’s defense regains itself from last weeks loss to put pressure on Max Hall and create turnovers in a hope to keep it close.  BYU should not take Wyoming lightly because they do play well at home, but the actually advantage is pretty small since weather is nice this weekend.  BYU will need to create turnovers to be able to put Wyoming away, but they are not necessary.  Most likely BYU will need to put up passing yards to be able to put beat Wyoming.  Look for BYU to clinch a share and defeat Wyoming.

Falcon Stadium 12PM MT TV: NONE

Air Force has a chance to finish off the season with 9 wins and a bowl berth come December time.  As for San Diego State who has been playing well may have a chance if they are able to slow down Mr. Everything Chad Hall, but that is not likely.  This is the last game for Seniors at Falcon Stadium where most will not play in the NFL but will be defending their country for the year to come.  Just a gut feeling but look for Air Force to dominate San Diego State by using their traditional running game and the occasional pass to mix things up.  Looking at last weeks game with SDSU might be able to hang with Air Force early on which should be true, because that is how Air Force plays, but the Aztecs do not have the defense to slow down Air Force.  The Falcons should win by at least two touchdowns.

Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium 12PM MT TV: NONE

The Rams better get their second win of the year, when FCS powerhouse Georgia Southern comes to Fort Collins.  The Eagles are possibly the best conferences in the FCS division which is the Southern Conference that includes teams as Wofford, Appalachian State, who they beat, and Furman.  So, this Georgia Southern team will not be phased they do average near 37 points per game, but do give up near the same while at 7-3.  The Rams better be careful and hope this game does not put a damper on an all ready terrible season.  The Rams did rebound and show life in a near win over New Mexico last week.  Look for the Rams to attempt to wear down the Eagle with Gatrell Johnson III and Kyle Bell in the running game to keep things moving along.  As long as Caleb Hanie limits turnovers then the Rams should coast.

Rice Eccles Stadium 3:30PM MT TV:

This New Mexico Lobos are one of the few teams in the conference that continually give the Utes trouble.  However the Lobos have digressed from their early season success.  The Lobos have the same record as the Utes, but the Utes have bee alongside BYU as the hottest team in the conference.  Look for the Utes to bring pressure against Donovan Porterie who has shown a weakness when the blitz comes.  For the Utes they also need to slow down RB Rodney Ferguson as well as bump and grab the Lobo receivers off the line to disrupt their timing.  In saying all of this New Mexico does have the offense to score points and defeat the Utes.  For Utah offensively they need a game called like last week with the reverses and mis direction plays to slow down the Lobo offense, and of course they need Darrell Mack to continue to be a threat in the ground game.  This game will go down until the last quarter, but look for Utah to end up with the win because they are at home and have been playing better of late.
